Historical Overview
EL Wakil family business was established more than half a century ago with activities in the rice & cotton trade field:

- El Beheira Rice Mills
- El Wakil Cotton-Gin
- El Wakil Oil Mill

For more than 30 years, this group of companies grew together with El Wakil Export Co. which was established in 1948. The main activities for the export company was to export the Egyptian rice & cotton to the European markets. The company took the leadership in the world market until the alternation of the Egyptian regime and the nationalization of private capitals and properties in 1961.

In 1972 a new dynamic generation of El Wakil family took over the parent activity and established Wakalex Import and Export company, the new company is continuing its ascending trend with precision and a special dynamism and focuses on the Export of Egyptian grains such as Sugar beet pulp and Egyptian rice.
